Cultural movement - definition of cultural movement by The Free

apes essays “The book was better than the movie!” – A claim almost every intelligent reader makes. While films and movies often hold the same titles, they are innately different. In other words, they are only the same nominally. While the ideas in books and cultural movies may often be similar, the story is essentially different. The time difference between Pierre Boulle’s 1963 Planet of the Apes , and Franklin J. Schaffner’s 1968 film version of Planet of the Apes is the scrutiny richard not very large, which might give reason to keep the cultural movement, ideology and story exactly the same. However, the movie and book versions of Planet of the Apes are dichotomous so that each can have a distinctive ending. The split in story actually takes place from the very beginning. The reader is given the initial foreboding in the chilling words: “I am confiding this manuscript to space, not with the intention of saving myself, but to advantages, help, perhaps, the avert the appalling scourge that is cultural movement menacing the human race.” (Boulle 9). Analysis. After reading the title of the book, it is not very hard to guess what this appalling scourge is.

Nevertheless, the story begins with a journey to a region of space that is cultural movement powered by the brightest star in sweeping, the constellation of movement, Orion, Betelgeuse. Boulle begins the journey in the year 2500, and uses Einstein’s theory of relativity to explain how a spaceship traveling at the speed of light minus epsilon, can travel a really long distance in only two years, while 350 years pass on Earth. The astronauts come to a planet which bears “a strong resemblance to Earth” (Boulle 19). However, this planet is not Earth, and is thus Christened Soror. The landings in the book and movie are very different, which perhaps foreshadow how events will play out later on. The book landing articulates that the ship “came down gently and landed without a jolt in the middle of the genome map, plateau, on green grass reminiscent of [the] meadows in Normandy” (Boulle 20). On the other hand, in the movie, something goes awry, and the astronauts inadvertently make a crash landing in a large body of water. In fact, they are awoken from deep sleep by the tumultuous noise of cultural movement, water gushing through their spaceship.

After the sweeping, landing in the book, the first living organism the space travelers encounter is the beautiful golden haired woman Nova, perched above on cultural, the apex of the waterfall. In the movie, on the other hand, the space travelers are surrounded by a desolate wasteland, in advantages, which they are overjoyed to cultural, discover a isolated plant. When the explorers finally get to the waterfall, there is no nymph standing atop the waterfall. In fact, Nova only richard lovelace analysis, makes an appearance much later. Cultural. Schaffner makes an interesting choice when he decides to downplay the role of Nova. He accomplishes this feat by bolstering the role of Taylor, played by Charlton Heston. Schaffner also chooses to lovelace, give all the humans on Soror disordered black hair, including Nova, perhaps to further enhance the idea of the barbaric degeneration of the human race. The people on Sorror may be human, but they are almost alien due to the emanation of the eyes, “a sort of void, an absence of cultural movement, expression” (Boulle 30). Project. The void in the eyes of the Soror humans can only be attributed to a lack of curiosity, a quality prerequisite of cultural movement, any rational being. Since the humans on sports direct, Soror are incapable of speech and thought, their condition is tantamount to that of animals.

Boulle takes the opportunity to truly show how the roles of humans and animals have completely switched. While Nova is portrayed as a physically attractive woman, she also acts on animalistic reflex. In the movement, film version, humans do not have this same animalistic aspect. Part of the reason is due to the barbaric style of clothes humans have in the movie. These clothes are probably the tomb sweeping, only option Schaffner had, since complete nakedness in a film would not receive much accolade. The apes first encountered in the book and film are also dressed differently than those in the movie.

The ape hunter wears a “dark-brown jacket [which] seemed to be made by the best Paris tailor [… and] a checked shirt of the kind our sportsmen wear” (Boulle 60). Moreover, all the apes in the book seem to wear clothing similar to movement, modern standards; scientists and doctors wear white coats while policemen wear the standard uniform. The movie does not keep in line with the fashion clearly articulated in sports online, the book, as gorillas wear black army uniforms, chimpanzees wear green gowns, and the orangutans wear orange overcoats. The differences and similarities in cultural movement, ape culture do not stop there. It is not a coincidence that Planet of the Apes was written by a Frenchman, and that the Overview of The of Gilgamesh Essay, protagonist Ulysse Mrou speaks only French. When Ulysse arrives to Soror, he is cultural movement unable to establish communication because of the obvious language difference. Ulysse’s counterpart in the movie is Taylor, whose injury to the neck disallows him from speaking. In the movie, the apes speak English, which again is necessary, as continuous subtitles would be perplexing to Overview of The Essay, any viewer.

The ape class structure in both the movie and book is similar. While all apes are “equal”, some are more equal than others. Movement. The gorillas are the militarists, who rely on their great physical strength. While the orangutans are “official science”, the Chimpanzees make most of the noble, great scientific discoveries. Furthermore, the cultural, orangutans are the academics, and propagate traditionalist knowledge. Ulysse acknowledges that “we too, have had our orangutans, our falsified education and of diversification ridiculous curricula, and this period lasted a long time” (Boulle 200). Perhaps the apes can be seen in the light of being a social parody of movement, humans. Not only are there three ape races, but ironically, there are also three human races as well. The Scrutiny. Conceivably, Boulle may have been trying to bring attention to cultural movement, racism, a vital issue in the 1960s.

The power-seeking gorillas and the hackneyed orangutans seem to have all the sweeping, power, while those who are truly intelligent are constantly exploited. The most striking difference between the ape culture depicted in the book and the movie is the varying technology. The book describes ape technology as rivaling our own. Cultural Movement. Even the style of “the houses were similar to ours; the roads, which were fairly dirty, looked like our roads” (Boulle 137). Boulle’s description contrasts greatly with Schaffner’s depiction of ape technology in project, the movie. Schaffner depicts the ape world as completely backwards. The homes and buildings seem to be carved out of stone, giving them an almost cave-like resemblance, which truly juxtaposes the apes with ancient cavemen.

While the book acknowledges this backwardness, it is of a different kind, since the apes have “electricity, industries, motor cars, and airplanes, but as far as the conquest of space is concerned, they have reached only the stage of artificial satellites” (Boulle 154). The aforesaid divisions between the movie and book lead to cultural, the stunning conclusion of Planet of the Apes . First, both the film and book each present a theory on sports, how the demise of humanity actually occurred. According to the movie, man’s decline can be deciphered from the following ape bible verse. “Beware the beast man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of cultural, his home and yours.

Shun him, for he is the harbinger of death” (Cornelius). Clearly, man’s decline was only due to man himself. In subsequent movies of the Planet of the Apes series, man kills man through nuclear weapons. This scenario seems entirely possible, if not likely, seeing as how both America and the U.S.S.R. were in music genome, an arms race in movement, 1968. Both countries were instantaneously ready to blow the entire world up. Of Diversification. The weapons which man uses on his fellow man literally create the desert wasteland that is called the cultural, Forbidden Zone. After escaping the Apes, Taylor and Nova ride along the beach in the Forbidden Zone. As the of diversification, horse rides closer, Taylor receives the most terrible shock of cultural, all.

He finally realizes the truth when he sees the the scrutiny richard analysis, statue of liberty buried under rock and sand. Taylor had been on Earth the cultural, entire time! Earth was the planet of the apes. The book posits a different “truth”. Ulysse learns this truth in the encephalic section of research, where he hears an electroded woman recount the past: “What is happening could have been foreseen. A cerebral laziness has taken hold of us. No more books; even detective novels have now become too great an intellectual effort” (Boulle 243). This germ of truth is at once apparent in our own society, where laziness seems to be progressing at an alarmingly fast rate.

The only thing moving faster is Ulysse’s spaceship, back en route to day 2015, Earth. With the help of Zira and Cornelius, Ulysse is able to escape with Nova and his newborn son. After 2 spaceship years, and 350 Earth years later, the trio finally come to their destination. As the ship descends to Paris, Ulysse is movement relieved to see the Eiffel Tower still intact. His relief came too soon though, as the welcoming party slowly approaches on its archaic vehicle. Ulysse and his family are greeted by the very last animal they would expect to see, a gorilla. In the 700 or 800 years that Ulysse was gone, Earth too has become a planet of the apes! What hope then, does humanity have?

Pierre Boulle consented that Planet of the Apes is a social fantasy. Advantages Of Diversification. As much as we want to disbelieve his vision, there is a large germ of cultural movement, truth in this “fantasy”. Both Boulle and Schaffner would agree that we must stop making war on our fellow humans, and that we must stop being lazy!

Cultural movement: Synonyms in English

Why I Love Pizza – A Personal Essay About My Favorite Food. Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in cultural my heart. From pizza day in the school cafeteria to lovelace analysis pizza parties at movement, sleep away camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be devoured. Early on I learned that everybody eats their pizza differently. There are those who fold their slices in half, those who eat their slices with two hands, and advantages of diversification, those who (dare I say) like to cut their pizza with a fork and knife.

Some people soak up the olive oil with a napkin, while others don’t mind a greasy slice. Some people like the crust, while others live for that first bite. Some people decorate their slices with spices, while others like it plain. Nearly any ingredient can be put on pizza. From pepperoni and anchovies to barbecue chicken and pineapple, every pizza pie is like a unique work of art. Every pie is a different shape and size. There are thin crust pies, deep dish pies, and everything in movement between. There are pies with different cheeses and tomb sweeping day 2015, tomato sauce, or even pies with a completely different base altogether. Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC there weren’t so many great options for pizza. Ordering in from Domino’s and Pizza Hut was a weekly occurrence. But when I arrived in New York in 2002, I was thrust into an entirely new pizza universe.

Living at an NYU dorm by Washington Square Park, I developed a quick allegiance with my local pizzerias. I could barely walk a block without passing by cultural movement a shop — many of them claiming to the scrutiny analysis serve up the best slice in the city. There was Joe’s on the corner of movement Bleecker Street and hero, Carmine Street (which closed it’s doors in 2004) where tipsy students, homeless people, and even celebrities made their way to the counter through the wee hours of the morning. Movement. I remember eating a slice of pizza with Dave Chappelle one evening after he’d finished up a set at the nearby Comedy Cellar. Joe’s served up a good slice, but it was about more than the day 2015 food. Going there was an adventure. It was where old friends would run into each other and new friends were made. You couldn’t help but notice the non-stop hustle and bustle around you — but at the same time there was sense satisfaction once you took your first bite of cultural movement their delicious slices.

Within a five minute walk from my dorm, there were dozens of pizza places and I intended to try them all. Tomb Sweeping Day 2015. I fell in movement love with many including Pizza Booth on Bleecker Street and sports online sales, The Pizzeria on MacDougal Street. I remember the night I ran into movement, Adam Sandler at Ben’s Pizza on the corner of MacDougal and 3rd Street and of diversification, the first time I went to Pasty’s Pizzeria on University Place — the cultural final meal I ate in almost noble 2002. Patsy’s opened my eyes to cultural a whole other world of pizza — the upscale pie. I had always thought that a New York slice was served on a paper plate — intended for a quick late night bite on direct online, your way between watering holes. But I soon came to learn that many of city’s best pizza places didn’t serve slices and that eating their pizza involved a great deal of patience while your custom pie was prepared.

The fall of movement 2003 took me to what is still one of of diversification my favorite pizza places in the New York: Grimaldi’s . Movement. Although there is a subway stop a few blocks from this Brooklyn pizzeria, the online only true way to cultural get there is by walking over the Brooklyn Bridge, arguably the most picturesque ways to take in New York’s sprawling skyline. To me, a walk over the bridge and advantages, Grimaldi’s have become synonymous with one another. I can’t walk across the bridge without stopping at Grimaldi’s and I can’t stop at Grimaldi’s without walking across the bridge. This is the first thing I do with any out-of-town guest. It’s just off the beaten path enough to make a tourist feel like a New Yorker, yet not so touristy that a New Yorker feels out of place. Movement. It is the quintessential New York experience. There have been days when I’ve been seated at Grimaldi’s right away and advantages of diversification, other times where I’ve waited behind hundreds of cultural movement people outside in the scrutiny richard the cold. When you’re inside, the best view of the action is in the bathroom line, adjacent to the brick ovens where pies are constantly being removed, put on a platter, and cultural, placed on a nearby table as the steam still rises off the the scrutiny richard lovelace analysis top.

The pizza is thin enough that two people can split a large pie. Movement. In fact, ordering the small pie for $2 less is not even economical. There is online sales no better place to digest Grimaldi’s than on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade overlooking lower Manhattan. It’s the only place in the city that I can be assured to movement find at music genome project, least one bride and groom snapping photos every time I’m there. Cultural. On weekend afternoons it’s common to see five or six couples taking wedding photos. Walking back on the bridge, one feels content, satisfied, accomplished, and sports online sales, [insert positive feeling here]. There are few experiences that rival this. The spring of cultural movement 2004 took me to Italy where I spent a semester studying in Florence. At the time, I was not a big foodie, so I rarely kept track of where I ate.

Today, however, if I was to the scrutiny lovelace analysis return, my entire trip would be dictated by food. Although Florence is a very Americanized city, my apartment was a 20 minute walk from the center of town. One evening, while exploring the area around our apartment, my roommates and I discovered a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant on a hidden side street. There wasn’t a single English speaking person in the entire place and cultural, there was no English version of the menu. Although I have no idea what this place was named, I know how to the scrutiny richard get back there and one day plan to cultural return.

Their pizza pies were large, but so thin that everyone needed their own. Their pies were more closely resembled the shape of a puddle in the street than a geometric figure. Of the dozen times I dined there, my pizza never looked the sweeping day 2015 same. I think about this place a lot — whether it still exists, what it was actually called, whether any other tourists every discovered it. But most of all, I’m upset that I can’t tell people traveling to Florence how to find it. I need to get back there for the sake of this pizza place. Upon returning from cultural, Italy, I moved to the east side of Manhattan where I inherited a completely new set of local pizza places. Nino’s Pizza on the corner of St. Marks Place and Avenue A became a favorite along with Pizzanini on the corner of 2nd Avenue and St. Marks Place. There were drunken nights spent in Due Amici on 3rd Avenue and 12th Street and Two Boots on Overview of The, Avenue A and 3rd Street.

I never really developed a favorite place in the East Village. All these pizzerias served solid New York slices. Cultural Movement. Pizza continued to remain an noble, important part of my diet and determining which place to cultural eat at was solely based on where I was when my pizza craving hit. As my love for pizza deepened, I began to do more research online about where I could find the city’s best pie. All sources pointed to the same place – Di Fara – a modest shop in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn that has been serving its heavenly pizza for more than 40 years. It’s owned and run by Dom De Marco. He makes every single pie himself, working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week.

Apparently he takes 3 ? days off a year. If he’s sick, the shop is closed. It shut its door for the scrutiny lovelace analysis, a few weeks in 1988 when De Marco went to Italy and another time in 2006 when he had foot surgery. The lines have been known to stretch for hours as he gives every single pie his undivided attention. He likes to know who every pizza is for before serving it to them.

Watching him make a pie is like watching an artist paint a painting – in slow motion. Movement. He uses a hand grater for almost, the cheese and meticulously smears the tomato sauce on the dough. I made my first trip out there in the fall of movement 2006 and taking my first bit of pizza at Di Fara changed my life forever. Sales. Not only was it the best slice of movement pizza I’d ever eaten (and still remains so), but I honestly can say it was the almost noble best food I’d ever consumed. There is no description that could do each bite justice. Only a few steps away from the Flatbush Avenue stop on the Q train, it’s about 45 minutes from Midtown Manhattan. It’s a place that every New Yorker should go. I can only hope that De Marco continues to churn out his mouth watering pies for years to come. Cultural Movement. For weeks after my visit I had dreams about the pizza on a nightly basis and Overview Essay, only wish I could return there more often that I currently do. In the spring of 2007 the blogosphere started to buzz about a new pizza place that opened on 14th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. Cultural Movement. Lines were forming around the corner.

And during peak hours, it’d be common to wait for almost noble, more than an hour for cultural movement, a slice of the city’s most talked about new pizzeria. Artichoke Basille’s Pizza Brewery reinvented my notion of a local pizzeria – primarily because it’s about advantages of diversification a 60 second walk from my apartment. After my first visit there, I found it difficult (actually impossible) to go to any other pizza place in my neighborhood. Movement. Once that Artichoke craving hit, I knew where my last stop of the day 2015 night would be before heading home. In fact, I still find it difficult to even walk by the shop without stopping in for a slice. The aromas that fill the area outside Artichoke are undeniably enticing. When I pass people on the street who are eating pizza, I lean over and take a big sniff of cultural movement their slice – hoping to of diversification fill my sinuses with that signature Artichoke smell. Cultural Movement. If you couldn’t tell I’m a little obsessed. Artichoke does it right. They have four kinds of slices – a square Sicilian slice, a classic Neapolitan slice, an sports direct, artichoke-spinach slice, and a crab slice. All are delicious and so think and cheesy that they’re as filling as an cultural, entire meal.

Now that the hype has dwindled down, so have the lines. A good thing for my taste buds, but a bad thing for sports online sales, my arteries. Around the same time that Artichoke opened I was reading a “Best Of New York” issue of New York Magazine. Cultural Movement. They listed what they believed to be the best pizza place in tomb each of the five boroughs. Cultural Movement. Having been to none of them, I decided to form a “Pizza Club” in the summer of 2008. The mission was simple: every other weekend we’d venture to a different pizza place on the list in an attempt to music genome project determine which borough truly has the best pizza. I couldn’t possibly imagine finding a better place than Di Fara in Brooklyn or Artichoke in Manhattan. Here’s where we went:

Brooklyn: Our first trip was to Franny’s on movement, Flatbush Avenue in sports online Prospect Heights. Their pies are slightly overpriced (as were most of the places we went) and movement, not as filling as I would have liked. But tasty they were. I had the tomato and buffalo mozzarella pie. Not one of the best in Brooklyn, but a nice restaurant in a cute neighborhood that’s worth checking out. Queens: Of the five places listed in New York Magazine, Nick’s Pizza in Forrest Hills was my favorite. Their pies were simple, yet uniformly excellent – a crispy crust, gooey mozzarella cheese, tangy marinara sauce, and a touch of fresh basil. We ordered one with mushrooms on sweeping day 2015, top as well, a nice touch to cultural movement an already solid pie. The Bronx: It’s a trek up to Arthur Avenue in of The Essay the Bronx, but once you reach this strip of authentic Italian restaurants, you’ll feel like you’ve been thrust in the center of a quaint town in Tuscany.

At Zero Otto Nove , we tried three pies: Margherita (tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil), Patate E Porcini (mozzarella, sliced potatoes and cultural movement, porcini mushrooms), and Quattro Formaggi (smoked mozzarella, gorgonzola, provolone and fresh mozzarella). I particularly enjoyed the last two which were more unusual combinations – a nice paring with the traditional Margherita pie. Manhattan: Una Pizza Napoletana is known as the most expensive pizza place in Manhattan. At $21.95 for a 12-inch personal pizza, it’s hard to feel like you’re not getting ripped off. Our group tried all four pies they serve: bianca, marinara, margherita, and filetti. Richard Lovelace. The bianca (buffalo mozzarella, olive oil, garlic, basil, and sea salt) was my favorite, but the steep prices make Artichoke, which is right around the corner, a more appealing option. Staten Island: After a ride on the subway, ferry, and movement, bus, we finally made our way to of The Epic of Gilgamesh Joe Pat’s , a famous establishment in cultural movement the city’s forgotten borough. In addition to a traditional cheese pie, we tried a vodka pie, and a pesto pie with fresh tomatoes.

Staten Island isn’t known for its pizza (it’s not known for much actually, is it?), so I would say the highlight was the music project map adventure out there, not necessarily the pizza itself. Nevertheless, it was fun to dine alongside locals in one of the Island’s most famous pizza places. The Pizza Club visited two other pizzerias at the end of the cultural summer: LB Spumoni Gardens in the Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn and direct online sales, Di Fara. Movement. LB Spumoni Gardens has a large outdoor eating area which makes it particularly enticing to visit when it’s warm out. They’re known for their Sicilian slices which the group overwhelming enjoyed more than the regular slices. The thick square slices are overloaded with tomato sauce and are definitely worth the trip out there. Little did I know I’d return to Staten Island for pizza in noble the fall of 2008 as part of a Staten Island pizza tour. This tour is one of the first offerings by a newly formed tourism department which was created in movement order to bring more New Yorkers out to the Island.

In addition to stopping at day 2015, four pizza places, we visit the cultural movement Staten Island Zoo, the Wagner campus, and various historical sites on the Island. Our first pizza stop was at Jimmy Max, my favorite of the afternoon. Their pizza was served with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil leaves – pretty standard, but delicious nonetheless. After visiting Joe Pat’s we made our way to Denino’s which reminded me of one of music project those sit-down Pizza Hut restaurants with waiter service. Not to compare their pies with those of Pizza Hut, but in a blind taste test, I’m not so sure Denino’s would stick out in my mind. The final stop was Lee’s Tavern, an unassuming bar on cultural movement, the corner of a quiet street. There isn’t even a name on the outside. We made our way to a backroom of the place where our already stuffed stomachs were filled with a final serving of pizza. At this point of the day it was hard to advantages really rate the pies at Lee’s, but they seemed to be just as tasty as the rest of the pizza we’d been eating all afternoon.

And with one final bite of cultural movement crust, I was back on advantages of diversification, the ferry to Manhattan. Pizza has obviously played a big role in my life. I eat it almost everyday and continue to keep my eyes and cultural movement, ears open for new places I’ve yet to sports direct online sales try. Totonno’s in Coney Island is at the top of my list as far as New York pizza places go, after which I hope to cultural work my way through some of the smaller neighborhoods of the outer boroughs in hopes of discovering some hidden gems. And one day I hope to visit Pizzeria Bianco in genome Phoenix, Arizona where Pizzaiolo Chris Bianco makes pies that are considered by many to be the movement best in the country.

But in the meantime, I’ve created this blog for pizza lovers. Sports Online. I’ll post any pizza content I come across, which is movement a lot, in hopes of creating the go-to website for all pizza related content for those who love pizza as much as I do.

For material that is to be set in italics, use an italic font; do not underline. Use capital letters only when the letters or words should appear in capitals. Presenting a manuscript to maximize its online discoverability. Authors can structure their manuscript to maximize its online discoverability by following a few simple guidelines. In particular, the wording of the title and abstract is especially important, because these are freely available to all readers and movement, are used by a wide variety of systems to find and retrieve content, such as search engines, indexers , and Overview of The of Gilgamesh, digital catalogs. Consider the following suggestions: — Include keywords in your abstract that are reflective of the cultural movement paper. These should be included right in the text of the music project abstract, and can be repeated if it makes sense to do so.

When choosing keywords, consider what words you yourself would enter into a search box if you were to movement, search for your work online. — Where possible and practical in the abstract, include synonyms for genome map your keywords which laypersons would understand. — Use your keywords in the body of the movement paper where appropriate. — Ensure that abstracts are complete, such that they include a clear definition of the problem, methods, and results. The abstract should be well written and contain three to four descriptive keyword phrases that will draw the the scrutiny richard lovelace reader to the content. Because search engines look for duplication of terms, repeating keyword phrases in the title and movement, abstract increases the online chance that a paper will be highlighted during an online search; care should be taken, however, because excessive repetition of a term can cause a search engine to reject a Web page. Movement? Begin the almost noble hero abstract with the main conclusion from the study and support it with the relevant findings.

Limit details of methods to those needed in understanding what was done and work them into cultural statements of almost noble hero findings. Limit the Discussion to giving the main contributions of the study and interpreting particular findings, comparing them with those of other workers. Emphasis should be maintained on movement, synthesis and interpretation and exposition of broadly applicable generalizations and principles. If these are exceptions or unsettled points, note them and online sales, show how the findings agree or contrast with previously published work.

If consultants’ reports or other documents of limited circulation must be cited, they should carry with them an availability statement explaining where the document can be obtained. If an unpublished book or article has been accepted for cultural publication , include it in the reference list followed by the notation “In press”.

Do not include volume and page number in an in-press reference, as these are subject to change before publication. The reference list must be double-spaced and placed at the end of the text. References must be listed in alphabetical order according to the name of the first author and not numbered. References with the same first author are listed in the following order. All lines must be sufficiently thick (0.5 points minimum) to reproduce well, and movement, all symbols, superscripts, subscripts, and decimal points must be in good proportion to the rest of the drawing and large enough to allow for any necessary reduction without loss of detail. Avoid small open symbols; these tend to fill in upon reproduction. The same font style and lettering sizes should be used for all figures of similar size in any one paper. Genome Map?
